Noida’s economic boom, substantial consumer base, and rapidly advancing tech landscape make it an ideal market for Yulu’s shared EV services. Yulu launched its shared mobility service in Noida on September 2, 2024. This marks the company’s 11th city in its nationwide network and aims to support technology-led, sustainable, and affordable hyperlocal deliveries. The expansion is a part of Yulu’s strategy to strengthen its presence in the Delhi-NCR region and align with Uttar Pradesh’s EV Manufacturing and Mobility Policy.

Strategic hub for Yulu’s sustainable mobility solutions

Noida’s economic boom, substantial consumer base, and rapidly advancing tech landscape make it an ideal market for Yulu’s shared EV services. Known for a prosperous consumer class and thriving quick commerce and food delivery sectors, Noida is a key destination for Yulu’s sustainable hyperlocal delivery solutions, the company said in a media release.

“We are excited to bring Yulu to Noida, a city that embraces technology and innovation. Noida’s infrastructural growth and digital economy make it a perfect fit for our sustainable e-mobility services. The love and goodwill received by Yulu in Delhi and Gurugram in the national capital region make us confident about speedily winning both mindshare and market-share in Noida as well,” said Amit Gupta, Co-Founder & CEO of Yulu.

This service aligns with the Uttar Pradesh EV Manufacturing and Mobility Policy, which encourages fleet operators to electrify last-mile logistics services for various food delivery, e-commerce, and quick commerce platforms in the state.

“Having grown up in Uttar Pradesh, I have personally witnessed the state’s urban transformation as well as its determination to become future-ready by adopting progressive and sustainable solutions. Yulu will not only support the UP government’s efforts to promote greener logistics but foster an ecosystem of clean, affordable, and accessible mobility. We look forward to empowering gig workers with convenient and cost-effective EV solutions while supporting businesses in their journey toward fleet electrification,” Gupta added.

The new Yulu Centre in Sector 63, Noida, will serve as the operational hub for its future expansion in the region. Yulu’s energy needs will be met by Yuma Energy, India’s leading technology-powered battery-as-a-service (BaaS) player.

Empowering gig workers and expanding across Uttar Pradesh

Yulu’s presence in Noida will create new job opportunities for gig workers. Its inclusive mobility model is designed to break down barriers for aspiring gig workers, including women, who may lack access to a vehicle or a driving license, the company said.

Even as it scales up its operations within Noida, Yulu will explore options to expand its people and goods mobility services to other cities in the state, such as Lucknow, Varanasi, and Agra, through its franchise initiative, Yulu Business Partner.

The expansion into Noida is a strategic move for Yulu, considering the city’s high-tech landscape and prosperous consumer base. The new service aims to provide sustainable, affordable, and convenient mobility solutions, supporting both individual gig workers and businesses in the region, the company added.
