‘You are burning my state Manipur…’: Congress MP Alfred Kanngam Arthur targets Modi govt in LS

Congress MP of Outer Manipur Alfred Kanngam Arthur’s fiery speech in Rajya Sabha. On July 30, raising concerns of Manipur, he said, ‘I have gone through the budget that the Honorable Finance Minister has placed before the August House. Manipur has the lowest per capita income and the highest inflation. How do you expect a state that is the lowest in income and paying the highest prices to survive? You already have a conflict. You’ve had the worst floods in the last 35 years, unprecedented floods that we have ever seen in the last 35 years… I am from the Naga community in Manipur. We have stayed neutral to this conflict in letter and in spirit. We have not taken sides with anybody thinking that by being neutral, we would one day usher in peace’.
