“Will accelerate development” says BJP MP Arun Govil on launch of Vande Bharat train connecting Meerut-Lucknow

Meerut (Uttar Pradesh) [India], August 31 (ANI): After Prime Minister Narendra Modi flagged off the Vande Bharat train on the Meerut to Lucknow route, BJP MP Arun Govil said on Saturday that the launch of the new train will accelerate developmentHe also mentioned that his exile from train travel will end when he goes from Meerut to Lucknow in Vande Bharat.

“Today is a very historic day. Today Meerut has received such a good gift from Prime Minister Narendra Modi and the Railway Minister. It has been welcomed. This will accelerate development a lot… I have been in exile from train travel for a long time. My exile will end with this train when I go from Meerut to Lucknow,” he said.

Prime Minister Modi said today that Vande Bharat is the new face of the modern Indian Railways.

“Today, the people of UP and especially Western UP have also received good news through the Vande Bharat train on the Meerut-Lucknow route. Meerut and Western UP is the land of revolution. Today this region is witnessing a new revolution of development. Vande Bharat is the new face of the modern Indian Railways. Today, there is a demand for Vande Bharat in the city, on every route. The advent of high-speed trains gives people the confidence to expand their business, employment and their dreams. Today 102 Vande Bharat railway services are operating across the country,” he said.

The Meerut City – Lucknow Vande Bharat will help passengers save around 1 hour in comparison to the current fastest train between the two cities. Likewise, the Chennai Egmore – Nagercoil Vande Bharat and Madurai – Bengaluru Vande Bharat trains will cover the journey saving more than 2 hours and around 1 hour 30 mins respectively.

These new Vande Bharat trains shall provide the people of the region with the world-class means to travel with speed and comfort and will cater to three states – Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, and Karnataka. (ANI)
