Singh hailed from Kabirpur village in the Behta Mujawar police station area of Unnao.

Adityavardhan Singh was serving as Deputy Director in the UP Health Department and was posted in Varanasi and had travelled to Unnao with friends.

A senior IAS officer, Adityavardhan Singh, tragically drowned in River Ganga near Bilhaur in Uttar Pradesh’s Unnao on August 31. Despite extensive search efforts by the NDRF and water police teams, no trace of Singh has been found as of now. Reports indicate that Singh, who was taking a bath in the river, went missing. Initial attempts by local divers to recover him were delayed by a demand for Rs 10,000, which was only met after an online payment. Unfortunately, even after entering the water, the divers were unable to locate him.

Singh was serving as Deputy Director in the UP Health Department and was posted in Varanasi and had travelled to Unnao with friends. He had reportedly gone to the river with friends for a bath after which he got drowned. According to reports, he had requested his friends to take a photo while bathing.

During this time, he slipped and began to drown. His friends sought help from local divers, but the divers initially demanded Rs 10,000 in cash. After an online payment was arranged, the divers entered the water but were unable to locate Singh.

Singh hailed from Kabirpur village in the Behta Mujawar police station area of Unnao. His family resides in Indiranagar, Lucknow. His wife, Shailaja Mishra, is a judge based in Akola, Maharashtra. His father, Rameshchandra Singh, also served as an officer in the irrigation department and had established a home in Lucknow. Singh’s parents reside with his sister in Australia.

Following the incident, Singh’s wife and parents travelled to Kanpur from Australia. Additionally, Singh has a cousin who is also an IAS officer, working in the Chief Minister’s House in Bihar.
