In a significant move to optimise departmental efficiency and governance, the West Bengal government has implemented a series of high-profile transfers and appointments within its administrative hierarchy.

Key Appointments and Transfers:

Joyoshi Das Gupta, an IAS officer from the 2010 batch, has been appointed the Senior Special Secretary of the Technical Education, Training, and Skill Development Department. She will replace her previous role as Officer-on-Special Duty in the Personnel and Administrative Reforms Department.

Siladitya Basu Ray, another 2010 batch IAS officer, will transition from Senior Special Secretary in the Higher Education Department to Senior Special Secretary for the Public Enterprises & Industrial Reconstruction (PE & IR) Department.

Amit Roy Chaudhury, formerly the Senior Special Secretary in the Food and Supplies Department, is now the Senior Special Secretary in the higher education department.

Dr Subrata Gupta, a 2011 batch IAS officer, will lead the Science and Technology and Bio-Technology Department as Additional Chief Secretary, moving from his previous position as Additional Chief Secretary for the Food Processing Industries and Horticulture Department.

Hirdyesh Mohan has been appointed as Additional Chief Secretary for the Mass Education Extension and Library Services Department, leaving his role as Additional Chief Secretary for the Science and Technology and Bio-Technology Department.

Khalil Ahmed, previously Principal Secretary of the Paschimanchal Unnayan Affairs Department, is now the Principal Secretary of the Food Processing Industries and Horticulture Department.

Rajesh Kumar Sinha, who was principal secretary for the housing department and was in additional charge of the youth services and sports department, will now serve as the CEO of the Kolkata Metropolitan Development Authority (KMDA).

Dr. Godala Kiran Kumar, Officer-On-Special Duty at the Netaji Subhas Administrative Training Institute (NSATI), has been appointed as the Special Secretary of the Consumer Affairs Department.

Saikat Ganguly, currently the Project Director of the DRDC in Nadia, will be transferred and posted as the Additional District Magistrate of Nadia, with additional responsibility as Project Director of DRDC.
