In addition to heat index values, there is a threat of damaging winds this weekend.
The National Weather Service in Birmingham said, “Several features will move through the area with thunderstorms expected each afternoon Friday through Sunday. While large hail is possible, damaging winds will be the main threat with each storm.”
The Storm Prediction Center has portions of Alabama under a “Marginal Risk” for severe weather on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
James Spann, ABC 33/40, and Townsquare Media Tuscaloosa Chief Meteorologist reminds everyone that “it won’t rain everywhere today, but where storms do form, they could produce strong, gusty winds.”
