The India Meteorological Department has predicted that extremely heavy rainfall is expected in Gujarat regions and Rajasthan over the next one week. However, the intensity of rainfall is likely to decrease thereafter. The weather department has warned there will be heavy to heavy rainfall in several districts of Gujarat in the same period. Many parts of Surat, Tapi, and Bharuch districts have recorded over 100 mm of rainfall. Moreover, Netrang talukas in Bharuch and Valia have experienced 127mm and 156mm of rainfall. On the other hand, heavy showers have resulted in flooding in many areas of Rajasthan. According to weather officials, heavy downpour is predicted to continue in several districts of southern and southeastern Rajasthan for the following four to five days.
Heavy rainfall alert for Central & Western India
The IMD has predicted intense heavy downpours in the Gujarat region on 4 Sept. Isolated heavy showers might occur in the next seven days in Goa, Konkan, Kutch, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, West-East Madhya Pradesh, and Saurashtra.
Southern region to receive heavy showers
The southern regions of India like Coastal Karnataka, Coastal Andhra Pradesh, and Yanam might experience heavy rainfall from 4 Sept to 7 Sept. Telangana is expected to receive it today (4 Sept).
IMD forecast for Northeast & Eastern region
The Met Department has indicated that there will be isolated heavy rains for the next seven days in Mizoram, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, and Tripura. Similar weather patterns will be prevalent in Arunachal Pradesh and Andaman & Nicobar Islands. The eastern regions like Sikkim, Bihar, and Sub-Himalayan West Bengal are projected to receive heavy rainfall on 4 Sept.
Heavy downpours prediction for Northwest India
Isolated intense rainfall might occur over East Rajasthan for the next seven days. Likewise, West Rajasthan along with Uttarakhand is anticipated to experience similar weather patterns from 4 Sept to 6 Sept.
