A man who fled from Manipur Churachandpur district when ethnic violence broke out in May 2023 was shocked to see a viral video of his four-storey house being demolished with explosives. Naorem Ibomcha Meitei, 43, was rescued from Churachandpur and sent to a relief camp in May 2023. He told reporters his friends last year informed him his house in the Kuki tribes-dominated hill district Churachandpur had been demolished. However, he said this was the first time he saw the video of the destruction. He has now appealed to the authorities to take action against those who bombed his house.
