Vande Bharat trial run with 20 coaches begins on Mumbai-Ahmedabad Route today

Mumbai: Vande Bharat is all set for its trial run with 20 coaches on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route on Friday. After the successful trial run with a maximum speed of 130 kmph, this semi-high speed train will run on the Mumbai-Delhi route.

Currently, Vande Bharat runs with eight and 16 coaches. A total of 20 coaches are being tested with the intention of accommodating more passengers. For this, the train was brought from Lucknow to Ahmedabad the other day. This should be done after installing the necessary equipment for the test run. It will leave Ahmedabad at 7 am on Friday. It is expected to reach Mumbai Central Station at 11 am. After the trial run, this train will be sent back to Lucknow after suggesting necessary changes.

Meanwhile, the Railways is preparing to run trains at a speed of 160 km per hour on the Mumbai-Ahmedabad route. If that is the case, the journey that currently takes about six hours can be completed in four and a half to five hours. For this, around 120 small and big bridges need to be strengthened. As many as 134 curves should be straightened. The number of concrete sleepers should be increased on the road.

The Western Railway will spend Rs 3959 crore for this.
