TISS Mumbai student found dead in apartment after party – India News

A student from the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) in Mumbai was found dead at his rented apartment on Saturday morning. Police reported that Anurag Jaiswal, 23, who was pursuing a degree in Human Resources at TISS, had attended a freshers’ party in Vashi the previous night where he consumed alcohol, reports The Indian Express.

Jaiswal, originally from Lucknow, went to a party with 150 friends at a hotel in Vashi on Friday night. According to his roommates, he drank at the event. They returned to their apartment around 3 AM on Saturday.

When Jaiswal did not wake up by morning, his roommates took him to a hospital in Chembur, where he was pronounced dead.

Police are investigating the incident, having questioned Jaiswal’s three roommates.

An officer noted that there were no visible injury marks on Jaiswal’s body, and the cause of death is pending the post-mortem report.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Hemraj Rajput said an accidental death report has been filed, and further investigation is underway.
