New Delhi: Director Sanoj Mishra, known for his movie, The Diary of West Bengal, has been found in Varanasi by Gomti Nagar Extension police. He was missing for a few days after a case was filed against him by the Bengal government. Recently, actress and BJP MP Kangana Ranaut said that he went to Kolkata and has been untraceable since then.

Director Sanoj Mishra, who has been missing for days, was found by in Varanasi by Gomti Nagar Extension police. As per the police, he had gone to Varanasi on his own. He went to Varanasi after his film, The Diary of West Bengal, sparked massive controversy and debate, leading to numerous threats against the filmmaker.

The situation escalated following the release of the film’s trailer, which prompted the West Bengal government to file a legal case against Mishra. In response, he travelled to Kolkata on August 14 to attend a court hearing related to the case. For the unversed, the film explores the violent incidents in West Bengal.

Kangana Ranaut shares a post on Sanoj Mishra

After Sanoj went missing, Kangana Ranaut shared on her Instagram Stories, “He is Sanoj Kumar Mishra, he has directed a film called The Diary of West Bengal. After the trailer of his movie released Mamata Banerjee’s government filed a case against him and he went to Kolkata on 14th August to attend the court hearing of the same.”

“He reached Kolkata and went missing. His wife is calling me everyday she is beyond devastated last night she left for Bengal, I request @mamataofficial to help poor lady find her husband. Thanks,” he added.
