The Hyderabad Disaster Relief and Asset Protection Agency (HYDRAA), demolished a convention hall owned by Telugu actor Nagarjuna Akkineni in Madhapur on Saturday. The action was taken following allegations of illegal encroachment within the Full Tank Level (FTL) area in Madhapur, Hyderabad.

In response, Nagarjuna condemned the demolition as “unlawful” and denied any violations. In a statement shared on X (formerly Twitter). He clarified that the issue is currently pending in court. “The land is Patta land and not a single inch of tank area has been encroached. The demolition was wrongfully carried out based on misinformation,” Nagarjuna said. He emphasised that if the court had ruled against him, he would have complied with the demolition himself.

The Hyderabad police were present during the demolition to maintain order. Nagarjuna also pointed out that no prior notice was given before the demolition. He stated that the purpose of his response was to “correct any public misimpression about wrongful constructions or encroachment” and announced plans to seek legal recourse against the authorities’ actions.
