An auto overturned on the path of the Chief Minister’s convoy on Kamarajar Road in Chennai after being hit by a cop. A 5-year-old boy traveling in an auto sustained serious injuries in the accident and subsequently died.

Chennai: A five-year-old boy from Chennai died in a road accident on Kamarajar Salai in the city on Monday after the autorickshaw in which he was travelling toppled after hitting a policeman Mahendran who came across the speeding vehicle trailing Tamil Nadu Chief Minister MK Stalin’s convoy. The decased identified as Aloknath Dakshin. The Anna Square police registered a case against the policeman Mahendran and the autorickshaw driver Sekar escaped with minor injuries.

Convoy chaos

According to reports, Sekar hails from the Tiruvallikeni area of ​​Chennais work as an auto driver. He was taking his wife Shalini and grandson Aloknath Darshan in an auto on Kamaraj Road near Marina Beach around 8 pm last night. At the same time, the convoy vehicle for Chief Minister MK Stalin’s security near the PWD office was heading towards the Karunanidhi Memorial. Constable Mahendran, who was on security duty there at that time, instructed the vehicles to move aside. Unxpectedly, a car collided with the auto which was trying to stop on the side.

CM convoy collision claims young life

Due to this accident, the auto lost control and hit the policeman Mahendran and overturned on the road. Constable Mahendran, auto driver Sekar, passenger Shalini, and boy Darshan were injured.On seeing the accident, Chief Minister Stalin immediately stopped his vehicle and ordered the injured to be taken to the hospital immediately.

The boy who was rushed to the hospital died due to a severe head injury by responding to the treatment. The injured Sekar, Shalini, and constable Mahendran are undergoing treatment at the hospital.
