Thursday morning provided the proverbial silver lining over dark clouds as the Sun played peekaboo after disappearing for five days. However, it was shortlived and soon the clouds reappeared. While Ahmedabad has been spared of heavy rains, a cyclone is developing over the Saurashtra-Kutch region and is expected to emerge over the Arabian Sea and intensify into a cyclonic storm, ‘Asna’, on Friday. A land-hovering low-pressure system turning into a cyclonic storm over the sea is a rare event, last seen over the Arabian sea in 1964.
