Muzaffarnagar: Bharatiya Kisan Union’s national spokesperson Rakesh Tikait participated in a farmer’s program organized in Muzaffarnagar, Uttar Pradesh on Wednesday on the occasion of Kisan Diwas. During this, he clarified one of his old statements and accused the government of misinterpreting his statement. In fact, recently farmer leader Rakesh Tikait had given a controversial statement in Meerut, in which he had said that the kind of situation in neighboring countries Bangladesh and Sri Lanka can also be seen inside India in the future.
‘People should have been shown my full statement’
Let us tell you that Tikait had to face a lot of criticism for this controversial statement and some organizations had demanded necessary legal action against him. Giving clarification about this controversial statement, Rakesh Tikait said, ‘A guideline of the Uttar Pradesh government has come which states that if someone’s statement is edited or twisted or if wrong comments are made on it, then cases will be registered against him and strict action will be taken. People should have been shown my full statement.’
‘The agitation on farmers’ issues will continue’
Regarding the organizations demanding action and having links with Khalistanis, the farmer leader said that if they have any proof, they should present it and if their allegation is found to be true, then action must be taken. Let us tell you that many farmer leaders including Tikait participated in this special program held in Muzaffarnagar. Many farmers expressed their problems in the program. During this, Tikait said that the movement on farmers’ issues will continue in the future as well. He said, ‘On Kisan Diwas, all the farmers should tell their problems. The government’s intention is to create a dispute among some farmers’ organizations.’ (Language)
