Srinagar Traffic Police Publishes List of Vehicles with Multiple Pending Challans
SRINAGAR: Srinagar Traffic Police have published a list of over 3,100 vehicles in Jammu and Kashmir that have ten or more pending challans.
A senior traffic police officer said that the list has been shared on social media to alert vehicle owners of their outstanding fines.
“There is a large number of challans pending against over 3,100 vehicles. We have shared the list on our social media handles for those who have 10 or more pending challans,” he said.
The officer further added that a separate list has been released for at least 220 non-JK registered vehicles, with 10 or more pending challans. He urged all vehicle owners with pending challans to clear them promptly.
“Some vehicles have accumulated more than 20 challans and have not cleared any of them,” he added.
In a tweet on X, the Srinagar Traffic Police said: “Traffic City Srinagar requests all vehicle owners whose registration numbers are in these lists to kindly clear their pending challans immediately.”
The officer explained that the challans have been issued for various traffic violations and are aimed at discouraging drivers from breaking traffic rules. (KNO)
