Gangtok, Aug 30: The Commerce and Industries Department organized a one-day awareness programme at Soreng DAC Hall, focusing on government initiatives to support micro-enterprises and startups. The event aimed to educate local entrepreneurs about the PM Formalisation of Micro Food Processing Enterprises (PMFME) scheme, Startup India initiatives, and various MSME schemes.

Prem Kumar Subba, SDM, delivered the keynote address, highlighting the importance of these schemes in driving economic growth and supporting small businesses. Expert sessions covered the benefits of formalizing businesses, DPIIT registration, and MSME schemes for skill development and market access.

The programme concluded with a vote of thanks from Deepika Gurung, Inspector at the Commerce and Industries Department. Attendees gained a comprehensive understanding of how to leverage these schemes to formalize and expand their businesses.
