The National Weather Service says there’s a threat for severe weather across southern Minnesota this afternoon into tonight.
Timing for storms in southeast Minnesota appears most likely in the overnight hours. The main threats will be large hail and damaging winds, but a few tornadoes and locally heavy rain will also be possible.

Thunderstorms will develop over eastern South Dakota this afternoon and move into southwest Minnesota early this evening. Storms are expected to merge into cluster or line segment as they progress east into Minnesota.
Remain weather alert into the evening and the overnight hours, and have multiple ways to receive warnings.
