International Moon Day, celebrated every year in memory of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin’s first steps on the moon in 1969, was observed at Science City in the presence of Director of SAC-ISRO, Nilesh Desai. The event was attended by a large number of school students. Addressing the students, Nilesh spoke about the history of ISRO’s efforts, Chandrayaan-2’s landing on the moon, the reasons for Chandrayaan-1’s failure and its present accomplishments with ISRO’s second launch of its Navik Satellite System in 2023.
