  1. On Wednesday, Mizoram Home Minister K Sapdanga informed the assembly that the state government has not yet collected biometric data from refugees from neighbouring countries residing in Mizoram.   2. A reactor explosion in Anakapalle district, Andhra Pradesh, has injured more than 18 people. The incident happened at the Escientia Company plant within the Achutapuram Special Economic Zone. The injured individuals have been taken to NTR Hospital for treatment. The explosion occurred during lunchtime, preventing a larger disaster. Smoke from the reactor has been seen spreading to nearby villages.
  3. Science and Technology Minister Jitendra Singh announced on Wednesday that an Indian astronaut is expected to travel to the International Space Station by April next year as part of a collaborative effort between NASA and ISRO. Group Captains Shubhanshu Shukla and Prashanth Balakrishnan Nair, the two Indian astronaut-designates, are currently in the US undergoing training for the Axiom Space Ax-4 mission. Shukla has been selected by ISRO for the Ax-4 mission, with Nair serving as the backup candidate.
  4. Union Minister Pralhad Joshi is set to lay the foundation stone for an Electric Vehicle (EV) testing facility at the National Test House (NTH) in Bengaluru on Thursday. The facility will feature equipment for a range of tests on EV batteries, including electrical safety, electromagnetic compatibility (EMC), functional safety, durability, climate, and mechanical and material evaluations, according to an official statement. This new centre will provide comprehensive testing for various aspects of EVs, ensuring that vehicles meet rigorous quality standards before being sold to consumers. It is anticipated to be a major advantage for EV manufacturers in Southern India.
  5. Kerala police have directed Google to remove apps from its Play Store that are promoting fake lotteries falsely claiming to be associated with the state’s official lottery. A similar notice was issued to Meta, requesting the removal of advertisements for these fake lotteries from its platforms, including Facebook, WhatsApp, and Instagram, according to a release from the State Police Media Centre (SPMC) on Wednesday. This action followed cyber patrol investigations that uncovered 60 fraudulent lottery apps, 25 fake Facebook profiles, and 20 websites linked to the scam. The SPMC stated that severe legal measures will be taken against those responsible for the fraud.

  3. Russian authorities reported one of the largest drone attacks on Moscow since the conflict began in 2022 on Wednesday. They claimed to have intercepted all drones aimed at the capital. The Ministry of Defense stated that 45 Ukrainian drones were downed overnight, with 11 destroyed over the Moscow region, 23 over the Bryansk region, six over Belgorod, three over Kaluga, and two over Kursk.
