SRINAGAR: The authorities in Srinagar have issued a traffic advisory for the upcoming Tiranga Rally, scheduled for Monday.

The rally will commence at 5:00 AM from the Sher-e-Kashmir International Conference Centre (SKICC) and continue until 10:00 AM, concluding at the Botanical Garden. A significant number of participants, including VIPs and other dignitaries, are expected, which could lead to traffic disruptions.

To ensure smooth traffic flow and minimise inconvenience to commuters, specific route plans have been established.

“Traffic from Lalit Ghat to Kralsangri will be restricted between 5:00 AM and 10:00 AM. Motorists heading towards Nishat, Shalimar, and Harwan are advised to take the Dalgate-Rainawari-Hazratbal route instead of Boulevard Road, while those traveling from Harwan, Shalimar, and Nishat towards Lal Chowk should use the Foreshore-Hazratbal route instead of Nishat-Boulevard Road,” reads the advisory.

Additionally, commuters from Gulab Bagh, Zakoora, Naseembagh, and surrounding areas should opt for the Habak-Dargah-Khanyar route to reach Lal Chowk, avoiding the Foreshore Road.

Designated parking areas include the Royal Spring Golf Course for official vehicles and the Botanical Garden & Barista near Lalit Ghat for participants.

It adds, “Participants are urged to park only in designated areas, as vehicles parked on the roadside or in unauthorized locations will be towed at the owner’s expense. In case of emergencies, vehicles will be allowed to take the shortest available route, and citizens can contact the Traffic Police Control Room at 103 for assistance. The traffic department regrets any inconvenience and requests the public to plan their travel accordingly.”
