Railway Boost For Odisha: CM Majhi Hails PM Modi, Railway Minister For Approving Six Projects | Odisha

Bhubaneswar: Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi thanked Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw for approving six railway projects to give a boost to the railway sector in Odisha.

Taking to his X handle, CM wrote: “On behalf of the people of Odisha, I would like to thank the Prime Minister of India Narendra Modi and Railway Minister Ashwini Vaishnab for approving 6 major railway projects to develop Odisha railways. Along with the strengthening of railway infrastructure in Odisha, this project will facilitate development in the aspirational districts and tribal areas of Odisha. In the double engine government, the interests of 4.5 million Odiyans will be fulfilled and the dream of building Odisha as the centre of Eastern development will be realized.”

It is pertinent to mention that the Cabinet Committee on Economic Affairs chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi has approved Eight (8) projects of the Ministry of Railways with a total estimated cost of Rs. 24,657 crore (approx.) out of which four are exclusively in Odisha. The other two projects cover parts of Odisha.

The four railway line projects that are exclusively in Odisha are 73.62 KM Gunupur-Therubali (new line) covering Rayagada district, 116.21 KM Junagarh-Nabarangpur covering Kalahandi and Nabarangpur districts, 82.06 KM Badampahar-Kendujhargarh covering Keonjhar and Mayurbhanj districts and 85.60 Bangriposi-Gorumahisani covering Mayurbhanj district.
