Rahul’s Impromptu Dinner At Srinagar’s ‘Ahdoos’ Possible Because Modi Restored Peace: Dr Jitendra

NEW DELHI, Aug 24 : Union Minister Dr. Jitendra Singh praised Prime Minister Narendra Modi for bringing stability to Jammu & Kashmir, thus enabling senior Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi to enjoy the newfound peace, evidenced by his recent impromptu visit to Srinagar’s ‘Ahdoos’ restaurant for a dinner which was possible because the Modi Govt had restored normalcy and peace in the Valley.

“This is a testament to the peace and normalcy that has been restored in the region,” said Dr Jitendra Singh at a programme hosted by “Bharat24” news channel.
Dr. Jitendra Singh described the recent alliance between the National Conference (NC) and Congress as nothing but a marriage of convenience, born out of political desperation. He said “This unholy alliance is a clear indication of their willingness to sacrifice ideology and integrity for the sake of political survival. This alliance is not about serving the people but about self-preservation. It is an alliance formed in the backrooms of power, with no regard for the aspirations or needs of the citizens of Jammu and Kashmir.”
“Historic decision of abrogation of Article 370 brought justice and equal rights to a vast population in J&K who were deprived of these for the last seven decades”, said Union Minister of State (Independent Charge) Science and Technology, Minister of State (Independent Charge) Earth Sciences, MoS PMO, Department of Atomic Energy, Department of Space, Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
Referring to the ill-conceived alliance between Congress and National conference, Dr. Jitendra Singh said “Their thinly veiled agenda is nothing less than an effort to restore the divisive framework of “two flags, two constitutions” which would once again alienate the region from the rest of India. Attempting to resurrect the symbols of a bygone era, they are not only playing with the emotions of the people but also jeopardising the hard-earned peace and integration achieved in recent years.”
Union Minister Dr Jitendra Singh said, Congress should thank PM Modi for completing the unfinished task of Jawaharlal Nehru by abrogating Article 370. Nehru had gone on record to say that Article 370 would vanish with time but it continued to operate to serve the vested interests of his successors in the Congress party, he said.
The Minister said “As we celebrate the 5th Anniversary of abrogation of Article 370, some significant developments are highly notable. In the last 5 years transformation has happened broadly at four levels i.e. democratic, governance, development and security situation.”
Dr Jitendra Singh accused the Congress and NC for compromising even the national interest to stay in power. He recalled that for over four decades, the Shahpur Kandi National Project was kept in limbo depriving the Jammu region of much-needed water resources and economic development. It wasn’t until PM Modi took over and the project was finally set on the path to completion, he added.
Dr. Jitendra Singh recalled that the 73rd and 74th Amendments of the Panchayat Act were introduced by the Congress government at the Centre but not made applicable in J&K by the same coalition government in the State. Democratic decentralisation could not take place as central funds were not available to the local body representatives before 2019, he said.
The abrogation of Article 370 and the resolution of the Ram Janmabhoomi dispute stand as monumental achievements in the BJP’s journey of fulfilling its long-standing manifesto and promises. These actions represent the BJP’s commitment and consistency to decisive governance and to realising the promises made to the people.
Towards the conclusion of the interview Dr. Jitendra Singh said “The credit of bringing peace and development goes to PM Modi who gave confidence to the people in the region and assured that J&K will play a pivotal role in the country’s development and shine as the crown jewel.”
