The Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation (AMC) sealed the kitchen of Pride Plaza Hotel, Judges Bungalow Road in Bodakdev, after inspection following a customer’s complaint of presence of live insects in his soup.

The incident occurred on Tuesday when the customer had gone there for lunch following a business meeting. As per available details, he spotted the insects in his soup, which were still moving after being removed. He promptly alerted the hotel staff and recorded a video as evidence. AMC officials arrived at the hotel soon after the complaint, inspected the kitchen and sealed it.

This follows a similar incident at Hyatt, a five-star hotel in Vastrapur, where AMC sealed the kitchen and imposed a Rs 2 lakh fine after insects were found in the food.
