Thiruvananthapuram: To accommodate the surge in travel demand during the Onam holidays, the Kerala State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) will introduce special services from September 9 to September 23. These services will connect various locations in Kerala with Bengaluru, Mysuru, and Chennai, supplementing the existing fleet of 90 buses. Initially, 58 additional buses will operate daily. Online reservations for these special services will commence on Saturday, August 10, 2024.

Further buses will be added in phases according to booking trends and passenger demand, with an emphasis on busy routes. Regular services will also continue for Scania, Volvo, Swift AC, Non-AC, and Deluxe buses. Additional support services will be available at Bathery, Mysuru, Bengaluru, Salem, and Palakkad.

The services will be managed by unit officers who will oversee online reservations, traffic demands, and data from previous years. Service-in-charge personnel and the Operation Control Room will be involved in organising service patterns.

Fare discounts will be offered for off-peak services and one-way trips, with flexible fares available to manage demand and prevent fare increases by unauthorised services. These measures are intended to ensure cost-effective operations for KSRTC.

Tickets can be booked via the website www.onlineksrtcswift.com and the mobile app ENTE KSRTC NEO OPRS. For further information, contact the 24×7 control room at 94470 71021 or 0471 2463799.
