Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi met scores of people and listened to their grievances at the State Grievance Cell in Bhubaneswar on Monday.

The Public Grievance hearing, which began on July 1, reached its third day today. Along with the Chief Minister, Deputy Chief Minister Pravati Parida, Ministers- Nityananda Gond, Krushna Chandra Mahapatra, Bibhuti Bhushan Jena, Ganesh Ram Singh Khuntia, Dr Mukesh Mahaling, Krushna Chandra Patra were present.

Surendra Kumar, Additional Chief Secretary, General Administration Department, Bishnupada Sethi, Principal Secretary, SSEPD, and Principal Secretaries and senior officers of various departments were present.

Today, the Chief Minister started the hearing at 10 am and continued the hearing till around 5 pm. A total of 2,403 complaints were registered and more than 5,000 people met the Chief Minister and other ministers.

One of the various complainants,  Satish Sahu, a divyangjan from Khurda Tangi, alleged that his employment was terminated despite having been appointed through due process of law. For 8 years now, he has been suffering a lot to support his family of five. After getting a promise from the Chief Minister that his case would be properly investigated and justice would be given to him, Sahu returned with confidence.

Similarly, a Divyang youth from a poor family in Ganjam district, Bulu Biswal requested the CM to provide a scooter so that he can support his family by working. The Chief Minister also assured him that he would get a scooter soon.

An Octogenarian woman, Subhasini Dei (82) of the Siripur area in  ​​Bhubaneswar appealed to the Chief Minister to ensure she receives the old age allowance in Bhubaneswar. Immediately, the CM ordered the District Collector to take action.

Scores of people from various walks of life thronged the CM’s Grievance Cell to convey their problems and after getting the assurance from the Chief Minister and other Ministers, they returned home with positive hopes.
