Bhubaneswar: No-confidence vote against Junagarh Notified Area Council (NAC) Chairman Mukesh Agarwal, scheduled for today, has been postponed.

According to sources, the no-confidence vote was called off due to the absence of the Additional District Magistrate (ADM).

The no-confidence motion was brought against Agarwal by 10 councilors led by the NAC Vice-Chairman, accusing Agarwal of indulging in various irregularities.

The councilors had filed a complaint with the Kalahandi District Collector on July 16 following which the Collector had scheduled the no-confidence vote for August 1.

However, with the ADM not present, the vote has been put on hold, and a new date will be announced by the Collector soon.

Notably, out of the total 12 councilors in Junagarh NAC, 10 are from BJD and only 2 are from BJP.
