New Delhi: The National Institutional Ranking Framework (NIRF) rankings 2024 has been released. The Ministry of Education (MoE) has released the NIRF rankings on 13 different categories- Overall, Universities, Colleges, Research Institutions, Engineering, Management, Pharmacy, Medical, Dental, Law, Architecture and Planning, Agriculture and Allied Sectors, Innovation.

Last year, IIT Madras has emerged as the best institute in both overall and engineering categories. IIT Madras is retaining the top spot in engineering category for the last 5 years. In the India Rankings 2023, IIT Madras bagged the top spot, followed by IISc (rank 2) and IIT Delhi (rank 3). The other top institutes in the overall categories are- IIT Bombay (rank 4), IIT Kanpur (rank 5), AIIMS Delhi (rank 6), IIT Kharagpur (rank 7), IIT Roorkee (rank 8), IIT Guwahati (rank 9), JNU (rank 10).
Category-wise in the India Rankings 2023, the three best universities are- Indian Institute of Science (Rank 1), Jawaharlal Nehru University (Rank 2) and Jamia Millia Islamia (Rank 3). The top colleges are- Miranda House (Rank 1), Hindu College (Rank 2) and Presidency College (Rank 3). The best engineering colleges are- IIT Madras (AIR 1), IIT Delhi (AIR 2), IIT Bombay (AIR 3).
The best medical institutes are- All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS Delhi) (Rank 1), Post Graduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER Chandigarh) (Rank 2) and Christian Medical College Vellore (Rank 3). In management category, IIM Ahmedabad was announced as the best management colleges in India followed by IIM Bangalore and IIM Kozhikode.
