Uttar Pradesh has a total of 68 MBBS colleges, of which 35 are government-owned and 33 are private institutions. Pursuing an MBBS is a popular choice among students who wish to pursue a career in the field of medicine.

Admission to MBBS colleges in the state of Uttar Pradesh is granted to the medical entrance exam, National Entrance Cum Eligibility Test (NEET). KGMU is a state university situated in Lucknow. As per NIRF 2023, KGMU was ranked 12 under the Medical category and 77 under the overall category.
