Nagaland: Students urged to get educated and skilled at same time

Kohima town MLA, Dr Tsielhoutuo Ato Rhütso today asked students to get educated and skilled at the same time. He said there are many people getting highly educated but not qualified and skillful enough to be employable.
He was speaking at the during the RDNUMS Day and Parents and Grandparents day of the Rev Dr Neiliezhü Üsou Memorial School at State Academy hall, Kohima in the evening.
Rhütso said with ever changing challenges despite people living in a much better situation, it was more important to survive and make two meals possible from one’s end. In this regard, the MLA asked the students to work with an aim rather than being directionless.
He also thanked the attendance present for retaining trust in his leadership and assured to provide quality leadership as long as people put trust in him.
Rhütso, reflected on his journey of becoming a legislative member recalling that when he was a young boy, he sold newspapers. Till his pre-university, he worked as bus conductor and bus driver. The MLA added that it was very important to remain consistent and be ready for any job to get to where one aims to be and added that “Competence comes when we apply to desire to achieve.”
Citing that grooming and giving the best to the children is the responsibility of the parent, Rhütso encouraged the parent to give best in nurturing their children while thanking them for making their lives more comfortable today. Rhütso asserted that “the most and least expensive things that the parents can give to the children are education.”
Earlier, presentations were made by the students, teachers and parents.
On behalf of parents, Amenla Theünuo, Joint Director of Director of Animal Husbandry and Veterinary Services, Vice Principal of Kohima Science College, Autonomous, Jotsoma, R Moasangla Jamir and headmistress of the school conveyed greetings. Staff of RDNUMS presented school theme song. Rev TW Yamyap Konyak, State Chaplain prayed for the event.
