Mumbai traffic update: Rain waterlogs roads, commuters troubled

The city is likely to experience heavy rainfall till August 6 and this has raised concerns about traffic snarls in the Mumbai Metropolitan Region (MMR) and the Mumbai-Pune Express Highway as heavy rainfall leads to waterlogging. On Sunday, Pune IMD head KS Hosalikar advised commuters to be cautious of potential traffic disruptions on the Mumbai-Pune Express Highway.

Heavy rainfall in Mumbai mostly results in severe waterlogging in many areas. This affects major roads like Eastern Express Highway and Western Express Highway. In addition to waterlogging in many parts of the city, several car, bus, and tempo breakdowns added to city’s traffic snarls.
