Mumbai: 13-year-old dies by suicide, blames classmates and teachers

A 13-year-old boy from Kalyan near Mumbai died by suicide, leaving behind a note. He blamed a teacher at school and some of his classmates for allegedly teasing him, which forced him to take the extreme step. The Police have launched an investigation in the case.

Mumbai: A 13-year-old boy died by suicide in Maharashtra’s Kalyan. The school boy reportedly hanged himself to death and also left behind a suicide note. He has blamed his classmates and teachers for taking the extreme step.

Classmates teased boy: Suicide note

According to the suicide note of the boy, he was being continuously teased by his classmates and teachers. He hanged himself to death on Sunday evening, at around 7pm at his home. The deceased was identified as Vignesh Patra.

Patra used to stay in Shivajinagar Chikanpada area of ​​Kalyan East with his family. The family included his father, mother and a sister. He was a Class 8 student of a prestigious school in Kalyan East, said reports.

The boy was alone at home when he took the extreme step. His father had gone out for work and his mother and sister were also visiting the market. Police said that the suicide note recovered from near the boy’s body showed that he was being harassed by one of his teachers at school and some of his classmates. He reportedly named the teacher who was troubling him.

The Kolshewadi Police reached the housesoon afterreceiving information about the suicide. They have registered a case in the matter under relevant sections and are carrying out a thorough investigation.
