Sanjay Singh News: Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MP Sanjay Singh’s troubles seem to be increasing once again. MP-MLA Magistrate Shubham Verma rejected the application to stop the execution of non-bailable warrant issued against AAP’s Rajya Sabha member Sanjay Singh and former MLA Anoop Sanda in a 23-year-old case of dharna and road blockage. The court has issued arrest warrants against all the accused and ordered the police to present them by August 28.

The case in which the warrant has been issued is of 19 June 2001. Then a protest was held near Lucknow Naka in Nagar Kotwali area regarding electricity, water and many other issues. Sanjay Singh, Anoop Sanda etc. were involved in it. The inspector of Kotwali Nagar had registered a case against them for the sit-in protest and road blockade. This case went to the MP-MLA court in which all of them were found guilty and sentenced to three months imprisonment and a fine of 1500 rupees each. After this, all of them went to the session court but there too they did not get any relief. On last 9 August, the court had ordered them to surrender. After this, these people have appealed in the High Court.

The court has given the order after not getting interim relief from the Lucknow Bench of Allahabad High Court. On Tuesday also, through the lawyer, MP Sanjay Singh and Anoop Sanda demanded from the MP MLA Court to stop the arrest warrant. Advocate Arvind Singh Raja said that the matter is scheduled for hearing on August 22 before the High Court, everyone is bound to follow the order of the higher court. After the three-month jail sentence was restored by the Sessions Court, the MP-MLA Court of Sultanpur had issued arrest warrant against five convicts.

Let us tell you that the MP and the former MLA have challenged the decision of the Sessions Court to restore the sentence in the High Court. Sanjay Singh and Anoop Sanda, convicted in the 19 June 2001 incident, had asked for a chance to surrender. On Tuesday, MP-MLA Court Magistrate Shubham Verma rejected the plea and issued an arrest warrant against the culprits. The next hearing will be on August 28.
