Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi today highlighted the significance of safeguarding and promoting Odia Asmita (identity) through language, literature, culture, and heritage.

“The government will set up a Rs 200 crore corpus fund to establish Odia Asmita Bhawan, and develop institutions such as the Odisha Translation Academy and the Palm Leaf Manuscript Museum to achieve this, Majhi announced while welcoming the Governor’s address in the State Assembly.

The CM presented a vision for a developed Odisha by 2036, considering the next five years as critical for laying the groundwork for this objective. The government aims to position Odisha at the forefront in the context of a developed India by 2047.

Majhi emphasized the government’s focus on the people, referencing the fulfilment of four key commitments made to Odisha’s citizens on Day 1 of the new government took charge.

The CM reaffirmed the government’s dedication to fortifying democracy by honouring public opinion and addressing complaints through an established system. With resolve and persistent efforts, the government is determined to realise the aspirations of the people of Odisha, Majhi stated.

As part of the Subhadra Yojana scheme, women will be granted Rs 50,000 each, with the initiative slated to commence on September 17, coinciding with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s birthday, he added.

Aligning with the National Education Policy 2020, the state government plans to introduce a state-specific education policy to render higher education more attainable in Odisha, including disciplines such as law, medicine, and engineering, the CM conveyed.

Furthermore, 800 state-run schools will be transformed into PM Shri schools, and skill development initiatives will be localized to provide the youth with skills pertinent to the industry.

The government has pledged to fill 150,000 government posts, prioritizing vacant positions in the sector. It is committed to filling 65,000 of these posts over the next two years.
