Monsoon fury: IMD issues red alert for Gujarat, yellow alert for Mumbai & adjoining areas

Heavy rains continue to disrupt life across India, and now the India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a red alert for Gujarat, indicating that the state could experience heavy rainfall. Meanwhile, the IMD has issued a yellow alert for Mumbai and adjoining areas.

Civil agencies and authorities are on high alert across the country to manage the worst effects of the monsoon season.

Gujarat could experience heavy to very heavy rainfall, with thunderstorms and heavy rains also expected in various parts of Vidarbha, Madhya Pradesh, and Maharashtra

In Maharashtra, the IMD has issued a red alert for Raigad and an orange alert for Palghar, Thane, and Ratnagiri.

Earlier on Saturday, the agency predicted heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places in Gujarat, Vidarbha, Maharashtra, and Madhya Pradesh.

“Heavy to very heavy rainfall with extremely heavy rain likely at isolated places over the Gujarat region; heavy to very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chhattisgarh, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Konkan & Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Saurashtra & Kutch,” the IMD said in a bulletin.Meanwhile, heavy rainfall was also predicted for isolated places in other states, including Uttarakhand, Uttar Pradesh, Rajasthan, Bihar, Jharkhand, Marathwada, Kerala & Mahe, Telangana, and Coastal & North Interior Karnataka, the bulletin added.Pleasant weather in Delhi
