The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has informed in its latest bulletin that monsoon conditions will remain active over central and adjoining northwest India for the next two days. The IMD has issued an orange alert for Gujarat, Madhya Maharashtra, Sikkim, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, West Rajasthan, Tripura, Nagaland, Mizoram, and Nagpur.

Heavy Rainfall Warning for Northwest India

The IMD has forecast isolated heavy downpours over West Rajasthan from August 4 to August 6, Himachal Pradesh from August 5 to August 10, and Jammu and Kashmir on August 5 and August 7. East Rajasthan and Uttarakhand will experience heavy rainfall today, while East Uttar Pradesh will receive it from August 5 to August 10.

IMD’s Warning for Heavy Showers in Central and Western India

Intense rainfall is expected in Madhya Maharashtra and Gujarat on August 5. Similar weather patterns are anticipated in isolated places of East Madhya Pradesh on August 5, 7, 9, and 10. West Madhya Pradesh is likely to experience heavy rainfall from August 5 to August 10. Meanwhile, Konkan and Goa will see rainfall on August 5-6 and August 8-10.

Heavy Showers Alert for Northeast, Eastern & Southern Regions of India

The northeast region is expected to experience very heavy rainfall at isolated places over Assam and Meghalaya from August 5 to 6 and again on August 9. Mizoram, Nagaland, Tripura, and Manipur will see heavy rain on August 5, while Arunachal Pradesh will have it from August 5 to August 6. Additionally, Sikkim and West Bengal will experience heavy rainfall on August 5 and August 6. Jharkhand, Gangetic West Bengal, and Odisha will receive heavy rain on August 6 and August 7. The IMD has also predicted heavy precipitation at isolated places over Coastal Karnataka from August 5 to 6. Southern regions like Tamil Nadu, Kerala, and Mahe might experience heavy rainfall on August 5.
