Mohanlal resumes Barroz post-production in Mumbai; major announcement soon?

Mohanlal recently made headlines with his visit to the landslide-affected areas of Wayanad, Kerala, with the members of his army regiment. The Malayalam superstar, who announced special package for Wayanad by his charitable trust Viswa Santhi Foundation, is now back to his busy movie schedule. As per the recent updates, Mohanlal is back in Mumbai for the final post-production of Barroz, his long-awaited directorial debut which is gearing up for an Onam release.

Barroz, the long-delayed directorial debut of Mohanlal, is finally gearing up for its grand release in September 2024. A major chunk of the highly anticipated project’s post-production was done at Sony Studios Hollywood. The legendary actor had taken a short break from his acting career and visited the USA earlier this year, to personally supervise the VFX works of the film. As per the recent updates, the pending post-production of the 3D fantasy film is now nearing its completion, at a famous studio in Mumbai.

Recently, a private screening of the long-awaited Barroz 3D trailer was held at a PVR screen in Mumbai. Mohanlal attended the screening along with cinematographer Santhosh Sivan, and the rest of the team members of the film. According to the grapevine, the Barroz trailer is expected to have its official launch at the IIFA Utsavam event, which is slated to be held on September 6, 2024. The star-studded event will be held in Abu Dhabi on September 6th and 7th, 2024. An official announcement on the Barroz trailer release date is expected to be out soon.

Barroz, which is based on Jijo Punnoose’s renowned novel Barroz: Guardian Of D’Gama’s Treasure, features director Mohanlal himself in the titular role. After writer Jijo walked out citing creative differences with the actor-director, Kalavoor Ravikumar joined the team as the additional script writer. Santhosh Sivan is the director of photography of the project. Lydian Nadhaswaram composes the music. The highly anticipated project is bankrolled by Antony Perumbavoor, under the banner Aashirvad Cinemas.
