Late Salseng C. Marak was the Chief Minister of Meghalaya from 1993 to 1998. He was the third Garo Chief Minister of the State, after (L) Williamson A. Sangma and (L) Purno A. Sangma. A fiercely loyal person with the highest of integrity and self-esteem, he scripted history when he became the first chief minister to serve a full five-year term without changing his party when Meghalaya CM’s chair was touted as a ‘musical chair’.
