Meghalaya seeks Centre’s aid to set up ‘growth hubs’

Shillong, Aug 12: The state government has sought Centre’s support for establishing ‘growth hubs’ in New Shillong and other areas.

The proposal was submitted to the union finance minister by the Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and Deputy Chief Minister Prestone Tynsong in New Delhi on Monday.

Taking to X, Sangma said, “Had a fruitful meeting with Hon’ble Union Minister Smt. @nsitharaman ji. Expressed my gratitude for sanctioning new roads under the Externally Aided Projects (EAP) worth ₹2500 Cr.”

“Also requested her support for establishing growth hubs in New Shillong and other areas.”
