They beat Ponda Sub-division 3-2 to claim trophy
Taleigao: Mapusa Sub-Division were crowned champions after a 3-2 victory over Ponda Sub-Division in the 8th Edition of the Goa Police Football Tournament, organized by the Goa Police Sports Department at PHQ Ground, Panaji.
Mapusa’s Aditya Gad scored twice, while Shubhan Chandoji added another goal in their triumph. Ponda responded with goals from Shubham Naik and Gauresh Gaonkar.
Shubham Naik of Ponda was named Man of the Match for the final, while PSI Aditya Gad was awarded Man of the Tournament.
The final was graced by the presence of Alok Kumar (IPS), Director General of Police Goa, along with IGP Goa Omveer Singh, SP Sports Dharmesh Angley, DYSP Sports Shivram Vaigankar, and PI Sports Raia Naik.
The event also saw Goa Police Football Team Coach Swanand Naik being felicitated for his exceptional coaching.
