Manipur: Affected Landowners Committee Longmai Calls Indefinite Bandh On NH-37 And National Projects

Imphal, Aug 9: The Affected Landowners Committee (CALA) Longmai has declared an indefinite bandh starting midnight on August 9, 2024, affecting NH-37 (Imphal-Jiribam Road) and all national project works in Longmai, Noney District.

The shutdown comes as a protest against the non-payment of compensation for land used in the road expansion.

The landowners, asserting their rights and expressing frustration over unmet demands for justice, have chosen this drastic measure. Essential services such as medical, electricity, water supply, media, and religious activities will remain unaffected by the bandh.
