The City Crime Branch on Monday arrested Akshit Lalitkumar Jamb, 29, a resident of Goa who originally belongs to Delhi for threatening Bhupinder Madan, the owner of a start-up chain Theka Cafe. Madan lives in Bopal, Ahmedabad.
Crime Branch sources said sometime back Madan met Jamb during a visit to Goa. Later Jamb began to call up Madan to get a franchise of Theka Cafe which had come into limelight after the Season 2 of the show Shark Tank.
As per the FIR, Jamb also used to ask Madan for money. When Madan did not give him the franchise or the money, Jamb began to threaten him by calling him from a fake international number using VoIP. PSI RL Odedra of City Crime Branch said they found that the calls were made from Goa.
“Later in a joint operation with the Goa police, we located Jamb at a Goa resort and arrested him.,” said DCP, Crime Branch, Ajit Rajian.
