Man from Bihar Swept Away in Damodar River While Visiting Rajrappa Temple
A tragic incident occurred at the Rajrappa Temple on Sunday when a man, identified as Kaushal Kumar from Gaya, Bihar, was swept away by the Damodar River. Despite extensive search efforts by police and local residents, Kaushal Kumar remained untraceable as of late Sunday night.
Kaushal Kumar, along with a group of 15-20 men and women, had traveled from Gaya to visit the Rajrappa Temple. After offering their prayers, the group prepared to return home. However, before leaving, Kaushal and another member of the group, Ankit Kumar Tanti, decided to visit the riverbank near the Damodar River.
While Kaushal was washing his hands near the Bokaro-Ramgarh bridge, he lost his footing and slipped into the river. Ankit, who was nearby, raised an alarm and tried to rescue Kaushal but ended up struggling in the water himself. Fortunately, a local shopkeeper managed to save Ankit, but Kaushal was carried away by the strong current and disappeared.
Upon hearing the news, the group accompanying Kaushal alerted the authorities. Sub-Inspector Amit of the Gola Police Station arrived at the scene and organized a search operation with the help of local divers. However, due to the strong river currents and the onset of night, the search had to be called off without success.
Local village leaders along the riverbank have been informed of the situation and have been asked to report any sightings or clues regarding Kaushal’s whereabouts to the police. The incident has left the community in shock as the search for Kaushal continues.
