When the police questioned the family, it was found that they had gone with a suspended constable of Delhi Police living in SKA Society. The police detained Praveen on the basis of suspicion. When he was questioned, he confessed to the crime of killing Ankush Sharma. After this, the police recovered the body of Ankush Sharma from the bushes near LG roundabout on the directions of the accused.
The incident took place after the price of the purchased flat was increased
Police said that Praveen, originally a resident of Mohalla Mark Puria, Bahsuma town of Meerut, lives with his family in SKA Society. Praveen was recruited as a constable in Delhi Police in 2004, but he was currently suspended due to absence. During police interrogation, accused Praveen told that he met Ankush Sharma through property dealer Sanchit Sharma. Ankush has a flat in SKA Society, for which Praveen had struck a deal with Ankush for one crore twenty lakh rupees.
According to the police, Praveen gave Rs 8 lakh to Ankush Sharma as per his statement. The flat was also transferred to Praveen’s name. When the time for registration came near, Ankush Sharma went to Canada. After this, when Ankush Sharma returned, accused Praveen asked him to register the flat. Meanwhile, Ankush Sharma asked him to increase the amount by Rs 20 lakh, but accused Praveen refused to give more money. There was a dispute between the two over this matter and the registration of the flat got stuck. After this, he hatched a conspiracy to commit the murder.
The accused committed the crime after watching the film Drishyam
According to the police, the accused Praveen hatched a conspiracy to murder Ankush Sharma due to the ongoing dispute over the flat. For this, he watched many web series besides the film Drishyam. After this, he called Ankush Sharma on August 9 on the pretext of giving him money. Praveen made Ankush sit in his car and made him drink a lassi mixed with intoxicants. When Ankush was unconscious, the accused took him to the basement parking of his society. Here he killed Ankush by hitting him on the head with a hammer in the car. After this, the next day in the morning, the body was taken to the bushes in the forest ahead of LG roundabout and hidden.
Messages sent from contractor’s mobile
Accused Praveen used contractor Ankush Sharma’s mobile after killing him to escape from the police. He sent an email to his lawyer that Praveen has paid the entire amount. The registration has to be done soon. After this, he messaged Ankush’s wife and servant that I am leaving the house in frustration. Do not look for me. Apart from this, he searched the location of Nepal on Google, so that when the police search the mobile data, they think that Ankush has gone to Nepal. Apart from this, he also tried many tricks to save himself.
The car was washed to remove evidence
After the name of Praveen, the accused in the incident, came to light, his car was examined by the forensic team. The forensic team got some important evidence, which was matched. Ankush’s blood was spread in the car. However, he had gone to the service station and got the car washed. The person washing the car at the service station had asked how the blood got in the car, then he told that his son had got injured in the head, due to which blood spread, but some blood stains were left in the car.
The place to dispose of the body was also marked in advance
According to the police, accused Praveen had already marked the place to dispose of the body. He had visited that location continuously for about a week so that the police would think that he had visited there earlier. After this, he disposed of the body.
