Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) pacer Vijaykumar Vyshak expressed his disappointment with his fielding after suffering a 21-run loss against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at the M. Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru on Wednesday, April 26. Vijaykumar Vyshak said that they conceded extra runs to the opposition because of the drop catches in the first innings.
The Bangalore fielders dropped two catches in the match, and Nitish Rana was at the batting end on both occasions. Rana was dropped twice when he was batting on 16 runs and 19 runs, respectively. The KKR skipper made most of the dropped catches and scored 48 runs off 21 balls with the help of 3 fours and 4 sixes. The KKR scored 200 runs for the loss of five wickets.
Vijaykumar Vaishak said that they batted well in the first two overs before losing wickets at regular intervals. The right-arm pacer said they were unable to make a comeback after losing the top-order batters.
“We are gutted about the performance. We dropped a couple of catches and gave 30 runs extra, but we did come back strong. We batted really well in the first couple of overs, but we lost a lot of wickets and that’s where we ended up losing,” Vyshak was quoted as saying.

We Always Play Bold – Vijaykumar Vyshak
Vijaykumar Vyshak emphasized the importance of playing boldly and punishing bad balls. The Karnataka pacer said that their batters were unlucky to get out to the bad balls, as they went straight into the hands of fielders.
“We always play bold and that’s what we always do. It doesn’t matter who is bowling, if it is a bad ball, it’s a bad ball and has to be punished. A couple of balls where our batters got out were supposed to be hit. But we were unlucky that they were hit to the fielder,” he added.
We Have Been Doing Really Well In The Power-Play – Vijaykumar Vyshak
Vijaykumar Vyshak stated that Mohammed Siraj has been producing early wickets with the new ball throughout the season and that they did not get a wicket in only this game.
“It’s important to bowl well with the new ball and Siraj has been bowling really well. Today was one of the days when the ball didn’t swing much. We have been doing really well in the power-play and will still do so. It was just one of those games where we couldn’t get a wicket,” he concluded.
The Bangalore-based franchise remains in fifth place in the 10-team points table. The Royal Challengers Bangalore will lock horns with the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their next game at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Monday, May 1.
