Bhubaneswar: In an unfortunate incident, a lady journalist ended her life on the railway tracks after jumping before a train in Bhubaneswar on Wednesday.
As per reports, the deceased, identified as Madhumita Parida, was working for a web channel and was staying at a rented house in Bapuji Nagar. The Government Railway Police recovered the mutilated body of the woman from the railway tracks near Sishu Bhawan.
Also, a purported video, in which the lady journalist accused her husband of infidelity, is now doing rounds on social media. The video surfaced after her mutilated body was found.
While the post-mortem will be held Thursday morning, the GRP and Capital Police Station have started an investigation into the incident.
It is suspected that she committed suicide over her husband’s extramarital affair but the deceased’s family members claimed that she was murdered by her husband.
Madhumita reportedly posted a video on social media, disclosing the chaos in her personal life. She accused her husband of infidelity and shared her anguish over their estranged relationship.
Madhumita described how her husband’s betrayal and his decision to end their marriage resulted in constant arguments, adversely affecting her professional life. She expressed her inability to tolerate the situation any further.
“My husband is involved in an extramarital affair with another woman. He is unwilling to remain with me. Despite many attempts by others to persuade him to resume our marital life, he has refused,” Parida said in the video.
She also stated that their dispute made it impossible for her to attend work. “Whenever I took leave and stayed at home, we would argue frequently. The marital discord even hindered my ability to go to the office. I apologize, but I can no longer bear this,” she said, in the video, addressing her family that she has been cheated seeking them to forgive her for whatever happens next.
