The BJP’s statewide shutdown in Bengal in protest against Tuesday’s police action on participants of ‘Nabanna Abhijan’ saw some success while Mamata lashed out at the saffron party for causing unrest in Bengal. Banerjee’s remark ‘if Bengal burns, it’s effect will also be seen in other states’ evoked a major response from the BJP. Party’s state chief Sukanta Majumdar shot a letter to Amit Shah over the same. A few leaders including Rupa Ganguly and BJP’s Locket Chatterjee were also detained by the Kolkata Police. The National Task Force set up for safety of doctors urged states to follow a list of measures.
