Sanjay Roy, the prime accused in the rape and murder case of a trainee doctor in Kolkata, is currently lodged in the Presidency Correctional Home. He does not like the food served in the jail. News18 quoted jail sources as saying that Sanjay Roy got agitated when he was served roti-sabzi every day. However, the jail staff rebuked him, rejecting his demand for egg chowmein. After this, he agreed to eat roti-sabzi.
Earlier, when he was transferred from CBI custody to the correctional home, Sanjay Roy had asked for extra time to sleep. He was also seen talking to himself. After a few days, he returned to his normal self.
On Friday, the Central Bureau of Investigation summoned former principal of RG Kar Medical College Sandip Ghose for the 14th consecutive day for questioning in connection with the investigation into the case. According to a report by news agency PTI, officials said the agency has already questioned Sandip Ghose for over 140 hours.
Apart from this heinous crime, Sandeep Ghosh is also under the agency’s radar in the financial fraud case in the hospital. An FIR has already been registered against him. The agency officials also searched the former principal’s residence last Sunday and questioned him.
Sandip Ghosh was seen moving around inside the CGO Complex in Salt Lake, where the agency has its eastern regional headquarters, at around 10.45 a.m. On Thursday, several CBI teams visited the government R.G. Kar Hospital in connection with their investigation.
