Renowned film star Neil Nitin Mukesh recently opened up about the harrowing rape-murder of a woman doctor at RG Kar Medical College & Hospital in Kolkata and said that he was scared for his daughter. The 42-year-old star mentioned that he cried for an hour after hearing the tragic news.

New Delhi: The alleged rape and murder of a medic in Kolkata has sent shockwaves throughout the country. People from all walks of life, including common citizens and celebrities, are joining protests in large numbers, demanding justice for the deceased. Recently, Bollywood actor Neil Nitin Mukesh also expressed his concern over the incident.
According to an indiatvnews.com report, the 42-year-old star shared that he was at home when he first heard the tragic news. The harrowing incident moved him to tears and he cried for an hour in sadness. He immediately called his wife, who was visiting her mother’s house with their daughter, to talk about the situation.
Neil expressed that he is deeply worried for his daughter, especially in light of such shocking events. The Johnny Gaddaar hunk highlighted that he considers himself an extremely emotional family man. Like every other father, he constantly thinks about his daughter’s future and what she will do as she grows up. “I am scared,” Neil stated.
Kolkata doctor rape-murder probe
For the unversed, on August 9, 2024, the police recovered the body of a female postgraduate trainee doctor from the seminar hall of RG Kar Medical College and Hospital. The next day, a civic volunteer was arrested for his alleged involvement in the crime.
In response, healthcare professionals across the country ceased work after the body was found. The investigation was taken over by the CBI following a Calcutta High Court order on August 13, 2024. The probe agency is now focusing on how the crime was executed without any hindrance in the facility’s seminar hall.
