The court has also granted approval for polygraph tests on four additional medical professionals who were colleagues of the victim and present at the hospital on the night of the crime. Sanjoy Roy, a 33-year-old civic volunteer, is accused of assaulting and murdering the second-year trainee doctor. Roy was arrested shortly after the body of the victim was discovered in the seminar hall of RG Kar Hospital on August 9.

The Calcutta High Court has rescheduled the next hearing of the case to August 29, allowing time for the polygraph tests and further investigation. The case has garnered significant attention and underscores the ongoing efforts to ensure justice for the victim and her family.
